BRIAN HUNT FOR MAYOR OF CHARLESTON, WEST VIRGINIA

I am Brian Hunt and I am working to be the next mayor of Charleston.

Charleston is my home. Always has been. I have lived, worked and raised my family in the Oakridge neighborhood of the city, on property developed over generations of investment and hard work by my family and me. Our city is a special place, and I care enough to work for its betterment.

I am a father, grandfather, businessman, property owner, residential land developer, Marine, and I want to serve the city of Charleston as mayor.
For all the right reasons.

  • PUBLIC SAFETY

Public safety will be my first and foremost priority as Mayor.
    *Law Enforcement
    *Fire Services
    *Emergency Medial Services (EMS)
    *Emergency Management/Disaster Response
    *Corrections/ Justice
I will work with City Council, and the seven member Public Safety Committee, to implement
best practices for our city services. We will be working together to protect communities from
crime, accidents, and disasters, and to care for our citizens.

  • INFRASTRUCTURE / DEVELOPMENT

My professional background lends experience in the areas of building and construction. Our city needs a experienced individual to lead on infrastructure projects that fundamentally improve our
    city.

  • CITY SERVICES

My job is to keep our city clean, functional and efficient. And I will. I will prioritize the implementation of best practices in managing and serving the city responsibly. If something adds value, great, if it does not add value, it is out. For example, for builders and contractors, which I am one, we will review the building permit system, eliminate unnecessary red tape and make permitting responsible, but user friendly.

  • ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

I want to prepare and promote Charleston, the Capital City for opportunity and growth.

  • ENTREPRENEUR OPPORTUNITIES

I want to prepare and promote Charleston, the Capital City for opportunity and growth. We will find a solution for the Town Center Mall, and look to replace the user fee plaguing employers and employees in the city. We must increase population and our tax base so Charleston may grow. I will identify ways to encourage services that support a city. Increased daycare options, improved senior services.
